You work to hold it together on the outside, but on the inside your mind is full of constant, negative chatter. Sometimes you wonder where these thoughts even come from, and why you can’t seem to get them to stop.
You want to feel closer to those around you, but it feels difficult to say what’s on your mind without fear of pushing others away. Sometimes you do speak up and then ruminate about how it went. You might get snappy when you don’t mean to, and then spiral into feeling ashamed of the behavior. You might feel pressure to act a certain way, because others will reject you if you show your full self.
You wish that your day to day life felt more rewarding and enjoyable but you’re unsure of what to do or where to start. You wonder about changing jobs, trying new hobbies, or various types of self-improvement. But it feels easier to stay where you are, and changes you’ve tried in the past did not work out the way you thought they would.

I’m Melissa, and I believe that “feeling better” is about more than just reframing your thoughts or learning coping skills (while these can be really important parts of the journey!) – it’s about living a life that feels authentic and meaningful to you.
While our minds are incredible, it is easy to get caught in loops and overthinking patterns that are not helping us get what we want. Our worries, racing thoughts, and self-criticism can create so much noise that it makes it difficult to sort out what we need the most. This is where I can help.

After consultation, we will schedule our first session. There, we will discuss your goals for therapy and the challenges you are experiencing. I’ll ask questions to better understand your life and how you like to approach problems. Together, we will make a plan for how to work toward your goals.
Then, you can start getting what you need! We will schedule ongoing meetings, either weekly or biweekly. It will be a space to focus on your needs, and use approaches for getting you moving in a direction that feels more manageable and gratifying.
